He was married (1)5 May 1836, Madison, Co, AL to Julia Ann Walker; and was married (2) about 1860?, AR to Martha Potts Dumas.
Benjamin married Julia Walker in Alabama, and later the family moved to Arkansas when her parents made the move. While in Arkansas, Julia died leaving Benjamin with small children: Mary Jane, Letha, and John Walker Hill.
He later married the widow of W.A. Dumas, who also had three small children: Eliza, James, and William Dumas. Together Benjamin and Martha had 3 children, Marcellous, Julia, and C.D. All three were born while the family lived in Arkansas.
Ben sold real estate to Major John Walker for Confederate money and ran slaves into Texas. Money became worthless and slaves, of course, were freed.
