MARION - Mrs. Ruth Ammons Bowers, 53, died Wednesday morning in a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Smith Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Caulder Cemetery near Marion.
Mrs. Bowers was the daughter of the late William Oliver and Charity Caulder Ammons.
Surviving are her husband, Junior Bowers of Charleston; two sons, Henry C. Woodell of Columbia and Tommy Lee Woodell of Florence; a daughter, Mrs. Charles F. Allen of Summerville; four sisters, Mrs. Joe Clark of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Elmer Lee Snipes of Laurinburg, NC, Mrs. Woodrow Locklear of Marion and Miss Gloria Ammons of Ladson; and two brothers, W. O. Ammons and L. S. Ammons, both of Marion.
