Mary Jean Ray 83, Indianapolis, passed away August 20, 2010. She was born May 10, 1927 in Bedford, IN to the late Thomas Henry and Susan Afra Mattingly Greenwell.
Mary Jean married Roy Eugene "Gene" Ray April 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death December 11, 1985.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 25, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. with funeral services Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Christian Cemetery, 2394 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Bedford, IN.
Mary Jean is survived by her loving children, Michael E. (Denise) Ray, Robert D. Ray, Susan E. (Patrick) Hansen, and Joe D. (Shannon) Ray; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
