**Per family knowledge Wesly was the son of Ernest Leon and Annie Edna Goins.**

Funeral services for Wesley Maurice Bessonette, of Brookhaven, are 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service Chapel, with burial in Union Hall Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Bessonette, 83, died Aug. 11, 2011, at Haven Hall Nursing Home. He was born on Nov. 4, 1927, to Ernest Leon and Grace Goings Bessonette.

He was a painter and
a member of Union Hall Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wives, MayDean Bracey Bessonette and Carrie Mae Bessonette; his sons, Jerry Bessonette and Danny Bessonette; his daughter, Patricia Bessonette; and his brothers, Malcolm Bessonette, Lonny Bessonette and Rudolf Bessonette.

Survivors are his daughters, Linda and Jolyn Bessonette, both of Brookhaven; his stepson, Chad Case; his stepdaughter, Tammy Jackson; his brothers, Freddie and Homer Bessonette, both of Brookhaven; his sister, Evelyn Bessonette Smith and husband, Don, of Arkansas; his grandchild, Trey Wilkinson; his step-grandchild, Shayla Melton; and his three step-great-grandchildren, Austyn Melton, Kayleigh Scmitt and Kaughner Melton.
