Emory J. Blanding, aged 95, of Greenville, passed away Saturday. He was owner and operated the Blanding Milk Company in Greenville most of his life, he was one of the first Christmas tree growers in Michigan, a veteran of WW1. He was a charter member of several organizations and an active member of many Greenville organizations most of his life. He is survived by his children, Marian (Norman) Miller, Belding, Eleanor (Harry) Rose, Florida, Joyce (William) Price and Rev. James (Jean) Crabtree of Greenville, Dorothy (Allen) Amidon, Plainwell, Ronald (Irene) Blanding, GA, Arthur (Janet) Blanding, WS; sister, Blanche (Wendel) Hart, TX; brothers, Milton (Neva), Stanton, Kenneth (Lois), Cedar Springs, Leonard (Lucille), Grand Rapids, Rev. William (Chris), Florida, Albert (Alice), California; 27 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; his good friend Bernice Winslow; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna in 1984; also four sisters and three brothers. Funeral Services will be Wednesday September 2, 11 a.m. from Greenville First United Methodist Church, Rev. Harry R. Johnson officiating. With Graveside Services at Forest Home Cemetery conducted by Lodge #96F&AM and American Legion Post 101. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday 7 to 9pm at the Brown Teman Funeral Home, Greenville. Memorial contributions may be made to Turk Lake or Greenville First United Methodist Churches.
