SHREVEPORT, LA – Services for Cecil G. Raney, Jr., 71, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, 1996 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Officiating will be Monsignor William O'Hanlon, pastor of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Forest Park.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 1996 with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.

Mr. Raney died Monday, May 20, 1996 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport. Mr. Raney was owner of Raney Auto Painting, Inc. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, past Commander of the American Legion Post #14, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, a member of the 40 & 8 Club, Southern Swingers and Swinging Gates Square Dance Clubs. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a charter member of the 82nd Airborne WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Comeaux Raney; three sons, Glenn David Raney, Ronnie Jerome Raney and Michael Gerald Raney; one daughter, Diane Marie Kordisch all of Shreveport; two sisters, Francis Jeter, Houston, TX and Helen Hailey, Shreveport; three brothers, Bill Raney of Shreveport, Charles Raney, Bossier City, La. and Jim Raney, Shreveport; five grandchildren, Christina Chandler, Erich Kordisch, Mitchell Haynes, Kirk Kordisch and Matthew Raney; one great-grandchild, Zachary Chandler; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Raney, Ray Raney, Ed Kernigan, Charles England, George Dement and Skip Gates.
