Mr. Blanding was born in Coral March 18, 1871, and lived his entire life in Montcalm county. He had lived in Greenville since 1911, and passed away while wintering in Florida.
He was a member of the Methodist church, the Men's class of the Methodist Sunday School, and the Knights of Pythias. Mr. Blanding was married to the former Leona Moore in 1892. She survives. He established the milk business which his son, Emery, now operates.
He is survived besides his wife, by five daughters Mrs. Ernest Akey, Mrs. Wendell Hart, and Mrs. Elmer Anderson, all of Greenville, Mrs. Vernon Sheldon of Marion, Mich., and Mrs. Glen Borst of Dearborn.
Eight sons, Emery of Greenville, Don of St. Johns, Dan of Tucon, Ariz., Rev. William of Lansing, Albert of Columbus, Ga. Milton of Stanton, and Kenneth and Leonard of Grand Rapids, survive.
One sister, Mrs. Herman Gosh of Freeport, one brother Hollis Blanding of Lakeview, 41 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, also survive.
The body will be returned to the Brown Funeral Home, and services will be announced later.
