Cosette "Cozy" Brown grew up in Chattanooga, TN, graduating from Central High School in 1927. She attended Middle Tennessee State Teachers College (now Middle Tennessee State University) in Murfreesboro, TN.

On May 28, 1932 Cozy married Ralph Moulton of Spring City, TN. They were the parents of two daughters and a son. The family lived in Chattanooga until 1953, when they moved to Knoxville.

Cozy was an avid reader and bridge player. She directed a duplicate bridge club, was a Republican committee woman, a Sunday school teacher, and a loving grandmother of six and great-grandmother of three, who enjoyed life until her death at the age of ninety.
