Known to all as Bea Farmer. She was born in Clay County, Alabama, but lived most of her life in Troup County, Georgia with her husband Jim Farmer, on the Hammett Road in Hogansville, Georgia.

Bea retired from the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell, where she worked as a spinner. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Springhill Baptist Church in Hogansville, Georgia. She attended the Harrisonville Baptist Church during her residency at the Brian Center.

After Jim's death, she remarried to Elisha N. Powell.

She was a resident of the Brian Center in LaGrange, Georgia at the time of her death. She was buried at the Hill View Annex Cemetery in LaGrange, Georgia. Her funeral was handled by Claude A. McKibben Funeral Home at the on premises Chapel.

The Rev. Frank Kennedy, ministered at her funeral that was held on Wednesday, August 31, 1994 at 11 am. Pallbearers were, Jack Dollar, Grover Hobbs and Herschal Cash. Elmond DeWard was the musician. The songs were, Amazing Grace and O Come Angel Band.

She was the daughter of Peter Alonzo Grizzle and Jessie Beatrice Stone Grizzle of Clay County, Alabama.
