U.S. ARMY MILITARY POLICE KOREA
BATH - Bruce H. Herrick, 79, of Bath, passed away Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 11, 1930 in Bath, the son of the late Forrest and Catherine (Dimmick) Herrick.
He attended Bath Haverling.
Served two years in the Army as Military Police during the Korean War. Then returned to the area to work at Mercury Aircraft retiring after 43 years of service as brake pass operator.
He was a long time member of the American Legion Post #173 Bath and served as 2nd Vice Commander/Dinner Chairman from 1989-1990. For the past few years he has been a devoted patron of the Painted Post Walmart/Subway where he acquired many new friends and was well known to all the staff.
Family was most important to him always making sure the were all together for holidays and special occasions. He often referred to himself as "Herricks Cab service" making sure everyone got where they needed to be.
His love, sense of humor and ability to disagree will be missed deeply.
He was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Marjorie (George) Mann; and one brother, John.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (King) Herrick of 51 years; three sons, Bruce (Lisa), John (Darlene) and William (Lisa); one daughter, Sarah (Paul) McKinley; grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Robert) Procter, Jennifer (Billy) Gitchell, David (Lisa), Brazie, Chelsea, Britney, Lizzy (Chipper), Cathrine and Madeline; great grandchildren, Damon, Dillan, Olivia, Madeline, Dawsen, Allie, Owen and Brock; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.
