John married Effie Dale Holliday on Oct. 14, 1891. Together they were parents to 5 daughters, and 2 sons.Their children were Pearl Ruth,b.27 July 1892.Mary Emily Lode,b.28 March 1894. Audry Mae, b. 5 Oct. 1896. Gale Holliday, b. 3 Dec. 1898. Margaret Olive, b. 28 July 1905. John D. Ballard, b. 3 May 1909. Raymond Dale Ballard, b. 1 Jan. 1912. John Lawrence Ballard lived in many places with Effie. After leaving Nebraska, John worked full time as a carpenter and builder. Many of his buildings exist today;both housing and public buildings.The last building that he worked on was the Girls Dorm for the SDA church in Campion, Colorado. During their life together they lived in Cody, Ne, Hook's Point, Iowa, Oswego and Enterprise, Kansas. Also, in Loveland and Pueblo, Colorado.He was a very active member and highest standing Elder in the SDA church.John Lawrence Ballard died at 80 years of age.
