John A. Eiche, 42, of 840 Bellefontaine Ave., salesman for the Standard Oil Co., died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in his home after an 18-month illness. Mr. Eiche was struck by a car in 1953 and had been ill since that time.

A native of Delphos, he was a member of Trinity Methodist Church there and a veteran of World War II, in which he served as an Air Force sergeant.

Surviving are his widow, Betty Driver Eiche; a son, John David, at home; his father, Frank Eiche, Delphos, and a brother, Harry H., Holt, Mich.

The body will remain in the Lewis Funeral Home for services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Memorial Chapel. The Rev. E. G. Petry will officiate. Burial will be in Lewis Grove Cemetery, east of Lima. Pallbearers will be Ronald Thiesing, Paul Brewer, K. L. Harmon, Donald Britt, Charles Burtchin, and Ray Cossel. The family suggests that those who wish, instead of sending flowers, contribute to the Allen County Unit, American Cancer Society.
