Art Williams passed away in his home in Ferndale on Monday, August 16, 2010. Art and his wife Evelyn (Lynn) were married for 65 years. Art and Lynn resided in Centralia, Washington, for 50 years before relocating in 2009 to a retirement community in Ferndale.
Art taught music in Fife and Ilwaco before teaching in the Centralia School District from 1959-1980. He took pride in his music students and enjoyed 12 years as Director of the Lewis County Community Chorus's presentations of The Messiah. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing, bowling, and many motor home journeys with Lynn. Art's latest passion was the Veteran's Memorial Museum in Chehalis where he spent countless hours volunteering and sharing stories over coffee in the Canteen.
Art is survived by his wife, Lynn; daughter, Charleen (Don) McKay; sons, Gerry (Charmaine) and Wayne (Jody) Williams; 4 grandchildren, Karen, Bruce, Jenny, and Jack; and 3 great grandchildren, Amy Evelyn, and Carter. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Keith.
