Marvin E. Aldredge, 76, of Marshall, died Saturday, July 24, 2004, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Vernon Maxted officiated. Burial was in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall with military rites at graveside. Pallbearers were Steve Shannon, Trafton Shannon, Bert Shannon, Merlin Aldredge, Brian McCorkle, Charlie McCorkle, Ed Yeagle Jr., Tom Yeagle and Tim Aldredge. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Caton, Ralph Gadberry, George Crawford, Wayne Shannon, Pete McCorkle, Ken Land, Mike Brasel and Mike Clouser. Memorials are suggested to Zoar Baptist Church or Bethany Baptist Church.
Born Oct. 30, 1927, in Pettis County, he was the son of the late Amos Raymond Aldredge and Dorothy Lucille Tavenner Aldredge. On Dec. 29, 1950, he married Helen Jean Shannon, who survives of the home. He had lived most of his life in Saline County and was a farmer. He was a member of the Zoar Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Additional survivors include one son, Larry E. Aldredge of rural Napton; one brother, Howard Aldredge of Marshall Junction; one sister, Dorothy Gadberry of Calera, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
