J. H. Tuley passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Quincy, Ill., Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock after an operation for kidney trouble. Mr. Tuley went to the hospital Feb. 28 in the hope of being relieved from the trouble that had caused hgim much annoyance. As a last resort underwent the operation which only hastened his death. He was about 60 years old and had lived in the vicinity of Canton his entire life. His remains were brought to Canton Tuesday afternoon and taken to his late home about eight miles Northwest of this place. His funeral was held at New Prospect Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock where the body was laid to rest.
