Robert "Straw" Edward Boisdore, 70, of Slidell, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010.

He was the father of Kelly Eugene (Kevin); brother of the late Henry and Earl Boisdore; brother-in-Law of the late Dorothy "Dot" Boisdore; uncle of Earleen Boisdore; and great-uncle of Earl Moraga and Thomas Moraga. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kevin and Jonathan.

A native of New Orleans, Robert grew up in the St. Roch area where he spent many years and had great memories of friends and times. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School and retired from Lykes Brothers Shipping Co. where he was the customs manager. He was a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Slidell.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 4 p.m. tomorrow at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. W. (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until funeral time. Donations to the American Cancer Society are preferred, in lieu of flowers.
