MRS. L. BERN MARTIN
Mrs. Flaude (Letha Bern) Martin, 72, of 1951 McMaster Ave., died Saturday at 11:48 p.m. at Cottage Hopsital.
The former Letha Ward was born Sept. 8, 1904, in Lehigh, Iowa, and married Lloyd Franklin Wesley Bern 17 Jun 1922 at Monmouth, Warren, Illinois. He died in 1974. She later married Flaude E. Martin on April 17, 1976, in Galesburg. He survives, with two sons Harold and Howard Bern, both of Galesburg; three brothers, Donovan Ward of Wisconsin, Guy Ward of Galesburg, and Dale Ward of near Alexis; a sister, Mrs. Donald (Wilma) Comingore, Galesburg; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Martin had been psychiatric supervisor at Galesburg Mental Health Center 23 years before retiring in 1975. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church.
Funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel where friends may call today from 7-8:30 p.m. Rev. Clifford DePrenger will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the church, the family said.
