Funeral services for Charles Bryant Britt, 73, were held Monday, December 2, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Collinsville. Rev. Jerry Davis conducted the service. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, southwest of Collinsville, under the direction of Huff Funeral Home in Whitesboro.

Death occurred Friday, November 29, 2002 at his residence in Collinsville.

Pallbearers were grandchildren; and Masonic pallbearers: Judge Horace Groff, John Ramsey, Jeff Schneider, Leroy Fischer, Bill Burton and Melvin Eddings.

Born April 14, 1929 in Electra, Texas, he was the son of the late Otha Britt and Gracie Barrett Britt. He married Jimmie Nell Johnson April 3, 1951 in Tioga. He was a retired postmaster at Collinsville, Past Master of Hiram Lodge #433 AF&AM; member of York Rite Bodies of Masonry; Member of Scottish Rite Bodies of Masonry; Hella Temple Shrine, Dallas; Appendent Bodies of Masonry; Past Patron Collinsville Chapter No. 674 OES; Dual member of Carpenters CH #183 OES, Sherman.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Collinsville.

Survivors are: his wife, Jimmie Britt, Collinsville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Doris Britt, Denton, Texas, and Jerry and Chris Britt, Howe, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Malinda and Phil Williams , and Debra and Randy Clark, all of Sherman; two brothers, Richard "Tutter" and Gailya Britt, Eastland, Texas, and Jimmie M. and Diana Britt, Grand Prairie, Texas; one sister, Zula Jolly, Vernon, Texas; ten grandchildren: Christopher and Megan Britt, Denton, Amanda Britt, Denison, Danielle Nicholson, Howe, Nicholas Williams, Las Cruces, New Mexico, Heather Williams, Sherman, Malissa and husband, Brad Earnhart, Sherman, Jordan, Jared, and Rebecca Clark, Sherman; and one great-grandchild, Holden Wheeler, Howe.

Memorials may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children or Hiram Lodge #433 AF&AM.
