Cathy was born June 13, 1925 in Clear Lake, Iowa the daughter of George and Anna (Ulrich) Mitchell. She was united in marriage to Herbert "Herb" E. Amey on April 14, 1960 in Thomson, Illinois - Herb recently passed in October of 2013.
Cathy worked as an inspector at the Clinton Garment Factory, retiring after 35 years. She was an Auxiliary member of AMVETS Post 28, Past President of the Humphrey Paulson Auxiliary V.F.W. , and an Auxiliary member of the Lions Club in Sun City, Arizona.
Cathy enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband, as well as going out dancing together. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and working with crafts. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Preceding Cathy in death were her parents, her husband Herb, three sisters and five brothers.
Memorials made will be directed to the wishes of the family.
