Third child born to Dr. Edward Currie and Miranda Eveline English Currie.
Dr. Edward, his father, grandparents came from Glascow, Scotland in 1788, landing at Wilmington, N.C.
Eventually migrating to Jefferson county, Miss. where Dr. Edward was born. Dr. Edward migrated to Livingston, Polk County, Texas, where he met and married Miranda Eveline English. She being the daughter of Captain John English and Elizabeth Choate English. She and Dr. Edward moved on to Crockett, Houston County, Texas where they would make their home and stay the remainder of their lives.
In June of 1873, death claimed the life of Edward, Jr's younger sister Martha Irene. Then in March 1876 Edward, Jr. lost his mother due to small pox exposer, and his only other sister, Eliza Jane, and brother John Malcolm, died the following month in April, 1876. He was the only child left.
After his mother, brother and sister's death he continued his education at Baylor college.
Dr. Edward, his father died in 1881, in Crockett, Texas.
Edward Currie, Jr. married Maggie Mae McKnight on October 15, 1899 and they soon moved away from Crockett, Texas.
He and maggie had nine children;
1. Henry Edward
2. Sarah Evelyn,
3. Martha Ellen,
4. Albert Beulah (Abbie)
5. Ila James
6. John Owen
7. Malcolm Durwood
8. Sybil Marie
9. Pat Wallace.
On April 29, 1929, Edward, Jr. passed away in San Antonio, Texas and is buried in Mission Park Burial Park in that city.
