John F. Bauer, 82, who has resided at the Bauer homestead near Mertztown all his life, passed away there early Saturday after a short illness. A son of the late John H. and Caroline, nee Fisher, Bauer, Mr. Bauer was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Mertztown. His wife, Nora, nee Guldin, Bauer, preceded him in death. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harry Knappenberger, at home, a son Lawson, in Franklin, N.J., and five grandchildren. Rev. Ralph Althouse will officiate at services on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the late home. Interment will be made in St. Paul's cemetery.
