Old Settler and Soldier Dies

Word was received here the first of the week that Erastus Perrine had passed away at the National Military Home at Leavenworth, Kansas on Monday morning, February 2nd. At the time of his death he was 78 years, 2 months and 11 days old, being born November 21, 1846.

Mr. Perrine lived in Creighton for a good many years, coming here at an early day. He was well and favorably known and was a veteran of the Civil War.

The body is expected to arrive in Creighton this (Thursday) afternoon and will be immediately taken to Greenwood cemetery, Rev. Littrell, pastor of the M.E. Church, officiating at the grave. Members of the American Legion will act as pallbearers.
