Wife of Gordon C. Jennings, oldest man to die defending The Alamo. Family history says she died at the home of her son, William McCutcheon, at Rice's Crossing in Williamson County. There is a cemetery there, Shiloh McCutcheon, but no marker for Catherine Jennings. Thanks to Shirley Barber for applying for a marker for her at the Texas State Cemetery. The centopath is at the foot of Willis Avery's(son)grave on Republic Hill. Catherine Overton was married three times. First to Vinson Avery in 1809, Second to William McCutcheon in 1812 and then to Gordon Jennings in 1822.
