"The Daily Tribune," Johnstown, PA- Monday, October 26, 1942:

Anna Lois Clark, 70, of Kernville Expires Suddenly

Mrs. Anna Lois Clark, aged 70, widow of John Grier Clark, died unexpectedly about 9 o'clock this morning at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph O. Clark of 720 Napoleon Street, with whom she resided. Mrs. Clark, a deaf mute, was found dead in her bedroom by her daughter-in-law. She apparently had just risen from bed when she collapsed. Deputy Coroner John Strank said death was due to natural causes. The deceased had been receiving medical attention for the past year, but apparently had been in fairly good health and was up and around yesterday. Born on November 17, 1871, in Armstrong County, Mrs. Clark was a daughter of William and Lois (Clark) Armstrong. She had resided in Johnstown for the past 40 years. Her husband, who formerly worked in the rake shop of the local steel mill, died on December 15, 1928. Mr. Clark made his home for a time in Williamsburg, Blair County, and was well known in that section. Surviving are two sons, Ralph O. Clark, 720 Napoleon Street, and William T. Clark, 947 Fritz Street. A daughter, Helen Jane, died in infancy. Mrs. Clark also leaves six sisters- Mrs. Olive Culbertson and Mrs. Cora Chathams, both of Altoona; and Mrs. Agnes Manner, Miss Charlotte Armstrong, Mrs. Alice Farren and Mrs. Ella Smith, all of Indiana. The deceased was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church and also was a member of the Mute Social Club Auxiliary of Johnstown. She attended the Edgewood School for Mutes in Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Ralph O. Clark home on Napoleon Street by Rev. Norman E. Koehler, pastor of the Bethany Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery under the direction of the John Henderson Company. Friends are being received at the Clark home, Napoleon Street.
