Two years later Mr. and Mrs. Alfson moved to Cottonwood County, Minnesota, where he engaged in farming. Mrs. Alfson passed away Nov 23, 1899. In 1913 Mr. Alfson moved to the Cyrus community and lived there until his death.
He was survived by two sons, Antone Alfson of Minneapolis and Joseph of Cyrus and one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Hoium of Cyrus. Two children preceded him in death. Surviving him also were eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one brother and two sisters.
