She was a retired federal government employee after many years of service and a Sunday School Secretary and former member of Cherry Road Baptist Church and a member of Gracewood Baptist Church where she cooked for many of the church functions. At the time of her death she left her step-daughter, Sylvia Gay Bowen of Water Valley, MS, and step-son, Dr. John Stephen Garavelli of Cambridge, England, one step-granddaughter, Tanya Thweatt of Oxford, MS and one step-great-granddaughter Robyn Thweatt of Oxford, MS.
