His father, Dr. Peter Jackson, died 1809 in Delaware. His mother Mary Rust Jackson, then married Lt. Col. Thomas F Carlisle, they moved 1st to Tenn., then Thomas received a Land Grant near Madisonville, Ky. After Thomas Carlisle died in 1821, a family story has Charles coming to Hopkins County Kentucky with some older half-brother Jackson to help his mother with her step-son John Milby Carlisle, age 12, & her three younger daughters, Elizabeth Jane, age 10, Julie Ann, age 7, & Mary Louisa "Laura", age 2, all Carlisles. his half-sisters

Charles King Jackson on Dec 12, 1828 married Jane Dumville in Hopkins County,Ky., and with twelve (12) children started a long line of Jackson descendants.

His wife was Mary Slaton b. 2-16-1838 d. 2-20-1882 Buried next to Ferdinand.
