Private, Co. L, 358th Regiment, 90th Division. Son of John Thomas and Jessie M Stothart; born May 9, 1896, in Copley Township, Knox County, IL. Entered the service at Galesburg April 30, 1918; to Camp Dodge; transferred to Camp Travis in May, 1918; overseas; in the trenches ten days; in the service 346 days; discharged April 11, 1919.

Lester C Stothart, 77, Oneida, died Sunday at 7:02 PM at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born May 9, 1896, in Copley Township.
He was a 50-year member of the Oneida Masonic Lodge 337, Oneida United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 135, Oneida American Legion Post 727 and the National Rural Letter Carriers Assn. He was a rural letter carrier around Oneida for over 40 years.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Merle Bryant and Mrs. Vern (Ruth) Holmes, both of Oneida, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 2 PM at the Hendricks Funeral Home, Oneida. Masonic Services will be Tuesday at 8:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oneida Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Greig Memorial Library, Oneida, the family said.
