Alma was athletic when young and played basketball. That energy kept her going all her life. She first worked in a cordage (cloth) mill and, much later, as a grocery cashier. She also cooked in both Fairdale school (Jefferson Co., KY) cafeterias and was President of the PTA several times each at both Fairdale Elementary School and Fairdale High School. Alma was awarded Lifetime Membership of the Kentucky PTA. She was also a member of Mt. Holly Methodist Church and The Order of the Eastern Star. In addition, she was homemaker, seamstress, cook, crafter, wife, and mother. She loved and was loved by many, including five children and seven grand-children.
