Mrs. Elizabeth F. Harrison of Springfield, a resident of this city for many years, died suddenly yesterday morning at her home. She was 82 years old. Mrs. Harrison was a granddaughter of Rev. Peter Akers, a Methodist clergyman and educator of this section of the state for nearly a century. He was president of McKendree college at Lebanon two different times and spent the declining years of his life in Jacksonville, where he died in 1886 in his ninety-seventh year.
Surviving Mrs. Harrison are a daughter, Mrs. F. L. Cogswell of New York City, and a granddaughter living in Chicago.
