William Acy or "Willie Acy",as he was often called, was also fondly called "the Cow Doc" even though he worked to cure any sick animal he could. He had a reputation as the best animal doctor in southern Mississippi and people would send for him from miles around to tend their sick cattle or horses. Smaller animals were often brought to him and housed at his home until they could go back home again.
