Harold W. Knox, 76, retired farmer, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1987. Service 10 a.m. Saturday, United Methodist Church.

Survivors: wife, Melba; sons, James of Wichita, William of South Haven; daughters, Rogene Hollingsworth of Woodward, Okla., Virginia Bacon of South Haven, Marjorie Cartmill of Anthony, Mary Maddox of Broken Arrow, Okla.; sister, Fern Fine of Omaha; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. Memorial has been established with the Kidney Foundation. Frank Funeral Home, Wellington.

Harold William Knox was born on March 16, 1910 in South Haven, Kansas to William Knox and Altie Mae Hall. He lived his entire life in South Haven, Kansas and farmed his family farm 3 miles west of South Haven. He met the love his life, Melba Faye Church, and married her on October 17, 1934 in South Haven, Kansas. They had 6 children, Beulah Rogene Hollingsworth Currey, Virginia Opal Bacon, Marjorie Louise Cartmill, James Harold Knox, Mary Hazel Sneed, and William Merrick Knox. Harold and Melba lived and farmed just outside of South Haven, Kansas.
