James M. Parker, 78, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, August 25 at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born May 25, 1932 in Independence, son of Forrest and Dorothy Passmore Parker. He married JoAnn Stark on August 31, 1957 at First Brethren Church, Waterloo.

Mr. Parker graduated from Hazleton High School in 1949. He was employed as a produce manager at Fairco Foods, Ankeny, retiring in 1997. He previously worked at Eagle Foods, Waterloo fo 29 years. he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Kevin (Jan) of Waterloo, and Steve (Karen) of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Deb (Jeff) Wagner of Overland Park, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marilyn (Doug) Jass of Longville, Minnesota.

Services 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Military rites conducted by Waterloo American Legion Post 138 and VFW Post 1623. Public visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
