John "Jack" Boever, 80, of Walnut Grove passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 at Prairie Home Hospice in Marshall, Minnesota.

John "Jack" Henry Boever was born March 13, 1927 in Remsen, Iowa to Matthew and Margaret (Gehrens) Boever. John was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, Iowa. His family then move to the Wabasso area. He was confirmed at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso, MN. He also attended school in Wabasso.

John married Agnes Mae Burns on January 13, 1948 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Walnut Grove, MN. John and Agnes lived and farmed north of Walnut Grove in North Hero Township from 1943 until their retirement in 1983. They then moved into Walnut Grove where they have sresided since. After moving to town, John was active in the Lion's Club and had also served on the Walnut Grove City Council. He was also a member of the Knights of Colombus. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, motorcycling, snowmobiling, going to their cabin on Lake Shetek and spending time with family and friends.

John Henry Boever is survived by his children: Patricia (James) Skewes of Marshall, MN, Judy (Ronald) Spatafora of Dallas, TX, and Robert (Patricia) Boever of Eagan, MN; grandchildren: Sonja (Brian) Thoreen, Monique Skewes, Brandon (Lori) Skewes, Anita (Richard) Knight and Joshua Boever; great grandchildren: Lydia, Zachary, Haley, Victoria,and Ethan; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife Agnes on June 8, 2007, sisters Mildred 1982, Catherine and Dorothy and brothers Marvin 1986 and Paul 2005.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul's Catholic Church in Walnut Grove with burial in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Walnut Grove, MN. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5 until 7:30 with a 7 p.m. prayer service and rosary at the Walnut Grove Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
