Mr. and Mrs. Abbott had gone to St. Petersburg, Fla., early in December to spend the winter. Last week Mrs. Abbott had complained of not feeling well and it was decided to return to Hagerstown. It was while they were enroute home that Mrs. Abbott was fatally stricken.
Mrs. Abbott was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church and of the Easter Star.
Besides her husband, surviving are two sons, John A. Abbott, Jr., this city, and James L. Abbott, a student at the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore; mother, Mrs. Lewis Kelley; sisters, Mrs. Fleta Durland, and Mrs. George Enyeart; brothers George and Samuel Kelley, all of Saxton, Pa.
The body will arrive in Hagerstown this evening. It may be viewed at the residence Wednesday afternoon and evening. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Suter Funeral Home, Rev. Dr. J. Turnbull Spicknall officiating, with interment in Rest Haven Cemetery.
