He was a graduate, Class of 1952, of Ascension Catholic High School, Donaldsonville.
He was a Korean War veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus who enjoyed artwork i.e.: characters, sign work, cartoons, oil painting, pen and ink.
Survived by his wife, Carmel "Doot" Duplessis Madere; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carmel and Tommy Prejean, Trudy and Brian Burnett, Patty and Ricky Boudreaux; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Tressie Burns Madere; two brothers, Alvin "Zeke" P. Madere Jr., Carl "Butch" R. Madere; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Audrey Landry Madere; and granddaughter, Alana R. Burnett.
Pallbearers will be T.J., Toby, Tyler, Travis, and Terry Prejean, Jeremy and Justin Burnett; Honorary pallbearer is Leo Gravis
