David Bruce Anderson, 63, resident of Bradley, formerly of Fountain Inn, husband of Jean Bishop Anderson, died August 31, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born November 9, 1946 in Asheville, NC, he was a son of the late Bruce Harley Anderson and Ruth Williams Anderson Lowry. He was a graduate of Carolina High School and Greenville Technical College. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served on River Patrol Boat # 110 with the River Division # 531. He was an amateur astronomer and was a member of the Roper Mountain Amateur Astronomers Club. He retired from Kemet Electronics.

Mr. Anderson was a member of McCormick First Baptist Church and was a deacon and Sunday School Teacher of the Genesis Class of the church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are three sons, Harley Shane (Joy) Anderson of Fountain Inn, James David (Brandy) Anderson of Greenville and Daniel Paul Anderson of Greenwood; a brother, Neil Hamilton (Martha) Anderson of Boiling Springs; a sister, Betty Jean Mitchell of Greenwood; two granddaughters, Catherine and Lily Anderson; a step-grandson, Malakhai Moss; and his mother-in-law, Virginia Bishop of the home.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Oakbrook Memorial Park with Rev. Gary DeBerry officiating.

Pallbearers will be Deacons and men of McCormick First Baptist Church.

The family is at the home in Bradley and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 1 to 2 Friday afternoon.
