MRS. MARTHA A. DEEDS
Mrs. Martha Adeline Deeds, 82, died at 2:10 this morning at her home on route 1 following a long illness. She was born at Nashville, Tenn., but had lived here most of her life. She was the widow of J.C. Deeds, who died in 1933, and she was a member of East Avenue Baptist church.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Meltabarger of Walnut Grove, Mrs. Grace Ward, Mrs. Ora Benson and Mrs. Fleeta Marshall of Springfield; two sons, Elizie and Mark Deeds of Springfield; five sisters, Mrs. S.H. Carter, W.F. Witherspoon, Mrs. Ida Diemer and Mrs. Bert Spellman of Springfield, and Mrs. A.J. Stoops of Roosevelt, Okla., six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in Klingner chapel with the Rev. E.W. French officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene and Bob Deeds, J.D. and Harold Meltabarger, Jimmy Marshall and Denzil Mitchell.
