She was born Nov. 15, 1909, in Preston County, West Virginia.
Twice married, she was the wife of the late Dayton Alford and Whitley Lilly.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, ceramics, crocheting and quilting.
Surviving are children Mary Helen Sherman, of Maine, and Willie Raymond Alford, of Finksburg; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Charles Morgan Alford; a sister, Nona Stutler; and a brother, Ralph Huff.
Interment in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
