Albert H. Stroman

Albert H. Stroman, 93, of Goshen, died early Monday morning, December 11, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital.

He was born December 2, 1913, in Topeka, Indiana, to Dale and Velma (Hostetler) Stroman. He married Vesta C. Showalter on May 22, 1948 in Goshen. She survives.

A 1933 graduate of Topeka High School, where he played four years of varsity basketball, Mr. Stroman attended the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen for 50 years. He worked as a bookkeeper for 19 years at the Farm Bureau CO-OP and then for Veterinarian Poultry Supply where he retired in 1985, after 20 years.

He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and working in the yard, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Vesta; two daughters, Debra (Steve) Sands of Greencastle, Indiana and Tina (Ben) Pestow of Goshen; five grandsons; and a sister, Betty Hite of Goshen.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Risser and a brother, Leon Stroman.

Friends will be received 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, December 15 at the funeral home.

An 11:30 memorial service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2006, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Alan Griffin of the First Presbyterian Church of Goshen will officiate.

Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Goshen.
