Taylor - Charles Eldon Bailey, 77, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 19, 1933 in Pocatello, Idaho, the oldest son of seven children, to Charles K. and Ada A. Bailey.

He was sealed to his eternal companion, Beverly Jane Farr, in the Logan LDS Temple on September 27, 1963. Together they raised a family of four wonderful daughters: Jane Ann Atkinson (Keith), Charlene Udink (Curtis), Kara Lee MacGoldrick (Rich) and Dawnell Morrow (Don).

His greatest joy in life was being a grandfather to his eight grandchildren: Amanda Volden (Matt), Pam Jensen (Travis), Keith Charles (K.C.) Atkinson, Travis Udink, Bailee Udink, Skyler MacGoldrick, Shalyce MacGoldrick and Jake Morrow.

He grew up in Arbon Valley & Clifton, Idaho and spent the last 47 years in Taylor. He graduated from West Side High School in Clifton, Idaho in 1951 and went on to get a degree in mechanical engineering from Weber State College.

He worked for Thiokol Chemical Corporation for 40 years. He proudly worked on the first Space Shuttle program and was thrilled to be able to witness in person the first Space Shuttle launch on April 12, 1981.

He also worked for the Utah Transit Authority for 32 years. At the time of his retirement he was the 2nd longest serving employee.

He honorably served two years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He faithfully served in the Auckland New Zealand mission from 1954-1956. He was a faithful member of the Taylor 1st ward where he held many callings in the church, most recently ward chorister.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Renee Beckstead and brother, Dennis Bailey.

He is survived by his loving wife; four daughters and their spouses; his grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Owen; and brothers, Ralph Bailey, Larry Bailey and Steven Bailey.
