"We Love You Mom"

Christine Leone Armstrong Bernardo, 43, passed away on October 23, 2006, after a valiant fight against diabetes. Christine was born February 23, 1963 and grew up in Salt Lake City, the 6th child of Lois C. Armstrong and Albert Thomas Armstrong. She loved camping, hiking and boating with her family and had a great love of the outdoors. Christine attended Granite High School, where she was involved in Drama and Choir and sang in the school musicals. She had a great love of music and singing and shared that love with her family and friends. On December 18th, 1981 she married Sergio Bernardo Jr. in the Salt Lake Temple, and they have shared 25 years of marriage together. She is the proud mother of three amazing daughters; Jessica Mirian, who passed away in 1984, Erika Crystal, and Natalee Nicole, both of whom are successful college students. Her husband and daughters cared for Christine with immense dedication through all her trials, an incredible tribute to the love they all shared. She had a kind, generous heart, full of love for everyone. Christine loved all children, and she worked for many years in Utah schools teaching children with special needs. Over the years, she has served in the L.D.S. church in many callings, including the young womens, primary, and relief society. Her determined spirit, her courage and loving character have touched many over the years, and she will be deeply missed by those of us she left behind. She is survived by her parents, Albert T. Armstrong and Lois Christensen Armstrong, husband, Sergio Bernardo Jr., daughters; Erika Crystal, and Natalee Nicole, 2 sisters, Patricia Louise Turner (husband, Rodney Turner who passed away in April), Katherine Marie Walters (Kelly), 4 brothers, Michael Thomas Armstrong (Lauren), Thomas Robert Armstrong (Carol), Steven Richard Armstrong, James Darrel Armstrong (Lori), brother-in-law Gus Bernardo (Deborah), sister-in-law Lucienne Lucas (Antonio), several cousins and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter, Jessica Mirian Bernardo, brother in law, Rodney Turner, and Grandparents. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28th, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bennion West Stake Center at 3550 W. 5620 S., Taylorsville, UT.
