QULIN, Mo. - Services for Luke Riley Acord Sr., 56, Qulin, were conducted Saturday in White Sanders Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Hancock officiated. Burial was in Brown Chapel at Broseley.

Acord died Wednesday, March 4, 1992, at Ruidosp Downs, N.M., in a head-on collision between two tractor-trailer trucks on U.S. 70 near Ruidoso Downs.

Acord was born Dec. 25, 1935, in Canalou, Mo., a son of Daten Henry and Freda (Baker) Acord Sr. Sept. 1, 1959, he married Dorothy Stinnett, who survives.

Acord had lived in Kokomo, Ind., and was a truck driver for ATP Trucking in Advance. He served in the Air Force and was a member of American Legion Post 494.

Also surviving are two sons, Luke Acord Jr. of Winona, Minn., and Johnny Acord of Texas; a daughter, Elaine Thurman of Atlanta; his stepmother, Zeda Mims Acord of Amboy, Ind.; a brother, Gene Acord of Fairmount, Ind.; four half brothers, Paul James and Daten Acord Jr.,
both of Amboy, and Gary and Rick Acord, both of Kokomo; 11 half sisters, Lavada Gist of Florida, Ethel Ridenour of Galveston, Ind., Sharlotte Buckley of Amboy, and Grace Roberts, Wilma Huntsman, Etta Simmons, Connie Mumaugh, Sharon Walker, Marge Rybolt, Jan Garrett and Karen Harris, all of Kokomo; four grandchildren;., and a great-grandchild.
