Nicknamed "June Bug," he was the son of Corrine Rose (Martinez) and Lawrence Rivera Sr. (Both deceased).

Lawrence was married to Mildred Gallegos, Iris (?) and then to Maria Elena (Huerta) Rivera.

He was the Brother of Lorene Gallegos (Carranza); Joe Rivera; Benjamin M. Martinez and the late Raymond A. Rivera.

His grandfather was Ben Sotero Martinez and Louise De Lorenzo. He was the Great-grandson of Raymond and Esther Romero and of Rudolfo and Epifania Martinez.

Lawrence's Aunt and Uncle were Margie and Ishmael Gonzales, and his Aunt was Rita Merat. He was the Father of Josette Rae, and Corrine Rivera.

He served with the U.S. Marine Corps and completed two tours in the Republic of Vietnam. He was stationed at Chu Lai and worked as a Quartermaster.

He was awarded The National Defense Service Medal, The Marine Combat Ribbon, The Navy Presidential Unit Citation,The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal, and others. He was discharged as a Lance Corporal.

Corrine, his mother, gave him the nickname "June Bug", as he was a cute as one when a baby.

He was my step-brother.

He married Marie Huerta, 1987. He served two tours as a Marine in the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Lorenzo's Barber Shop in Brighton.
