When Joshua D Banner was born on June 28, 1813, in Stokes, North Carolina, his father, Joshua, was 37 and his mother, Martha, was 31. He married Amy Weaver Ogburn Banner on August 10, 1836, in his hometown. They had eight children in 21 years. He died on November 14, 1865, in Bloomington, Illinois, at the age of 52.
