He was also preceded in death by a son Richard Akers, brothers John Wesley and Garland Aker; sisters, Sarah and Margaret Aker Tate.
Surviving are two daughters and spouse, Mary Trivisonno, Pulaski, Linda and Paul Hall, Pulaski; three grandchildren, Pam Surber, Nathan Hall, Susan Dalton; four great-grandchildren, Jason Surber, Lauren Kenley, Ashley Dalton and Nicole Dalton; three great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Isaac and Gavin; brother, Raymond Aker of Cincinnati and four sisters, Vivian Bentley of Hopewell, Va., Ruth Poole of Hillsville, Va., Inez 'Toots' Cunningham of Arkansas and Frances Windle of Connecticut.
Funeral services will be held from Stevens Funeral Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Thornsprings Cemetery, Pulaski County.
