Charles E. was born November 4, 1867, near Beason, the son of Thompson and Olive (Barr) Gambrel. On Nov. 2, 1887, he was married to Miss Emma Smith, who died Nov. 18, 1894. On June 6, 1908, he was married to Miss MInnie Matthews, of Waynesville, who survives. His entire life has been lived in Waynesville and vicinity.
