Albert O. Dewar, 79, Plainfield, formerly of Morgan County where he lived 43 years, died Thursday, December 26, at his home. A native of Nashville, Indiana, he was born October 3, 1906 to Silas and Rebecca Aynes Dewar. He was a farmer in Morgan County and had been a yard conductor for the former Pennsylvania Railroad. He was also a motor carrier for the Indianapolis News in Marion and Hendricks Counties from 1964 to 1983. He was a member of Charity Tabernacle, Indianapolis. Services were Monday, December 30 in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, with Rev David Gibson officiating. Burial was in White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville. Surviving are wife, Julia Lucas Dewar; sons, Robert Dewar, New Bruntels, Texas, Albert Dewar Jr, Indianapolis, Herman Dewar, Mooreville, and David K. Dewar, Manuel, Texas; daughters, Hazel Ellis, Plainfield, Doris Dewar, Albany, Kentucky, and Brenda Purvis, Plainfield; 33 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; brother, Elbert Dewar, Seymour; sisters, Anna Heaton, Indianapolis; Lottie Lucas, Columbus, Lola Helms, Nashville, and Florence Moore, Bloomington.
