AGE: 87 JACKSON

George A. Ehrnman, 87, passed away at his home in Jackson, NJ, on Tuesday, August 31, 2010.

Born in Chicago, he lived in Santa Fe, NM and Douglass, AZ before marrying Frances Smalley, Sept 29, 1944, and moving to Westfield. They moved to Jackson in 2007.

After graduating from Douglass High School, Douglass, Mr. Ehrnman enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific during both World War II and the Korean War.

He attended Seton Hall University and Rutgers University and had been employed by RCA, before retiring as Export Manager from Whittaker, Clark and Daniels of South Plainfield.

During his retirement, Mr. Ehrnman served as a crossing guard for the Westfield Public Schools.

An active member of the Presbyterian Church in Westfield for over 60 years, Mr. Ehrnman had been an Elder, a Deacon, a member of the Monday Morning Bankers, taught Sunday school, participated in many church committees and was active in the AGAPE program from its inception in 1997 until 2007.

Mr. Ehrnman was predeceased by his son, R. Bruce Ehrnman.

He is survived by Frances, his wife of 65 years; sister, Mary Liquore; son, Richard Ehrnman and wife Carol; daughters-in-law, Patricia Ehrnman, Karen Bodenhorn; grandchildren, Brad Ehrnman, Greg Ehrnman and wife Jennifer, Holly Ehrnman, Melissa Ehrnman; great-grandchildren, Henry and Charlotte; 3 nieces, 2 nephews; and many beloved grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Presbyterian Church in Westfield. Interment will be at the Revolutionary War Cemetary in Westfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Presbyterian Church in Westfield - Ehrnman Memorial", and given to the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, 140 Mountain Avenue, Westfield, NJ 07090. Contributions will go to support the AGAPE program.
