Sydnah Ann McPherson Moulton died at her home in Spring City on Oct. 10, 1953. She was born on January 16, 1872, oldest daughter of Capt.(Judge) Joel Lewis and Hannah Elizabeth Ladd McPherson. She was the great-great granddaughter of Col. James Roddye (1742-1822) of Russellville (Hamblen Co.), TN, who served with distinction in the Battle of Kings Mountain during the American Revolution and was one of the framers of the First Constitution of Tennessee. Sydnah Moulton was the widow of Smith Brady Moulton and mother of: Helen Elizabeth(8-22-1899 to 11-4-1907), James Smith (11-17-1902 to c.1994), William Ralph (11-24-1905 to 7-15-1984), Sydney Burton (6-23-1911 to 7-1-1912), and Joel Paul (10-22-1912 to 12-21-1996), and three grandchildren.
